If you are looking for a fun and patriotic game to organize for the 4th of July, this is a good one. It's a fun family game that big and little kids can play and it's great for a group.
You will need some small flags, which we found at the Dollar store. Set up a perimeter for the game play, so kids know where the flags will be hidden. While the kids are inside or in another area, have someone hide about 20 or 30 flags, depending on the number of players. You want to make sure that everyone gets a chance to find a few flags. Of course, you will always have the eager beaver in the group who finds lots of flags. Yes, this is a hide and seek game that anyone can play.
Stand all players at a starting line and then yell "go!" Have a special prize for the player who finds the most flags and you could even have a prize for all players that get even one flag. Cupcakes are great for this purpose. Some of the flags can be special flags with red or blue tape or ribbons on the pole section of the flag. These can earn fun rewards also.
Once all the flags are accounted for, let the players know that the hunt is over.
