chocolate tarts

Oh how my family loves dessert.  It’s the end to the day.  A signal that the work is done and its time to kick our feet back for a little while.  It’s time to take our time and enjoy something we love – each other and a special treat.

I like to make tarts as little personal desserts and these chocolate mousse tarts are a favorite.

To save time, I use pre-made buttery tarts that I buy from the grocery store.   And to be sure, this is a real simple recipe.  For even easier, just fill tarts with pudding.  Top with whipped cream and garnishments like cookie crumbs or chopped nuts.

Family Tip:  Evenings can get busy as the kids get older and are in evening sports, activities, and everyone has commitments.  If you can’t share dinner together, how about trying to come together for dessert a few times a week.  And it doesn’t have to be sweet and unhealthy- there are plenty of desserts that are made with healthy ingredients, and fruit focused desserts.  The idea is to take 30 minutes to share about each other’s day and the upcoming day.

Children learn to appreciate good food from parental example.
